Similar to the audio format-M4P, M4V is a video format which is commonly seen in the videos downloaded or purchased from iTunes store. Protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management), M4V is not compatible to many media players. Until now, the M4V files downloaded from iTunes can be viewed by QuickTime, VLC or other Apple produces including iPad, iPhone, iPod, etc, while the ones purchased from iTunes store can only be opened with iTunes or Apple devices.
Therefore, it is wise to convert M4V to MP4-the most compatible video format. By doing this, we will be able to open iTunes M4V on a large number of media players or portable devices.
This iTunes M4V to MP4 converter will convert M4V to MP4 or other video or audio formats without loss of quality. More conveniently, M4V to MP4 converter enables uses to directly convert iTunes M4V to the preset devices like iPad, iPhone, iPod, Blackberry, PSP, Xbox, PS3, etc.

Convert iTunes .m4v to .mp4
How can I convert movies and TV shows downloaded from iTunes from m4v to mp4?? Or can I even do that given they are copy protected? I can't even made a still screen cap from any of my iTunes movie or TV show purchases.
M4V to MP4
I'm trying to get clips I shot on my GoPro and imported into iMovie '11 into GoPro cineform studio to do some editing of the source clips. I'm specifically looking to cut the fat off of the 30+ minute clips, where I only need a few minutes. Sure enough, iMovie slapped on some DRM on my event clips. Normally cool, but I can't figure out how to remove the DRM so I can edit my clips in CineForm. Any suggestions?

Confusion: M4V vs. MP4??
I've started ripping some DVDs using Handbrake for Windows, ATV preset. I notice that when I pick a destination file for the output, it wants to default to the .mp4 format. When I try to play back the encoded file, Quicktime gives me an error. If I rename the file and change the extension to .m4v, as some of the other files are, then it warns me that changing it could cause problems, but the file then plays fine in quicktime/iTunes. What gives? What's the difference between and MP4 and an m4v? Thanks.
HandBrake to convert .m4v to .mp4
I have some .m4v files saved on my desktop that I want to be able to watch on my Droid phone. I downloaded HandBrake with the intention of converting the .m4v into .mp4 format which my Droid phone can play. When pointing HandBrake to the source file to convert on my computer (the saved .m4v), HandBrake comes back with "No Valid Source Found". I was under the impression HandBrake could convert .m4v into .mp4. Was I mistaken?
Best quality converting DVD to mp4, m4v etc?
Hi, I have a lot of DVDs that I want to store on my Mac Pro and started to extract using iMedia converter. That works fine.
However, I am not sure which format settings I should use for not downgrading the DVD's quality and not use as much space for the file as a simple DVD copy.
I understand that for Mac mp4, m4v, mov etc are the best formats, but each of these allows for a lot of settings that I don't quite know how to manage.
Converting .dvd media to .m4v
Just wanted to see if anyone has had success in finding video conversion (specifically .dvdmedia to .m4v or mp4) freeware that does not have a watermark? I have tried a numer of 'free trails' but they have all been about as 'free' as Hester Prynne walking around with a big, red A. I have a couple programs that run conversions great, but that '.dvdmedia' extension is throwing them all for a loop. Please let me know what y'all have seen and use. Thanks
Converting m4v to mp4 for import to iMovie
Hi, I'm new to MacRumors, so I'm not sure how everything works.
I've been looking all day on how to import m4v into iMovie, for some free converter or something (without a watermark). Then I thought of just changing the file extension name from .m4v to .mp4 and it worked! I'm now importing the movie into iMovie. I don't know if this is well known or not, but I've been looking all day and didn't find anything, so I hope I'm helping people out there. Thanks.
